    HELP a newbie Plz =)

    HELP_a Newbie

I want to make a NTSC DVD disc and i have to convert to mpeg2 with TMPGEnc befor using my SpruceUp program to design the DVD.

The output mpg file was a little to big to fit on the DVD acording to SpruceUp. But I can se that if I (in TMPGEnc) change the kbps from 3000 to 2500 before converting to mpeg2 it fits.

    The Question:

Can I do this and still have a normal NTSC DVD that can be played in normal standalone ntsc players (DVD-R) ?

How will this the change effecty the quality of the dvd?

Why can there only be 4.3 GB on a 4.7 GB disc?

    Thanks
    David

    Yes

"How will this the change effecty the quality of the dvd?"

You MAY see somewhat diminished video quality

"Why can there only be 4.3 GB on a 4.7 GB disc?"

Format overhead - Actually 4.37-4.38GB is possible

      MAY change the picture quality?

      If the quality is:
      512x384 resolution
      23 pictures a secound
      139kbps data-strime
      12 bit video sampling
      xXVID

Will there still be quality reduction?

      Excuse my spelling

That is why I said, "You MAY see somewhat diminished video quality"...
