philips dvd711 problem:disk error?!

please help,
i've had the philips dvd711(region2) for over a year&half and region
hacked it wit all4one and all has been great for ages, but lately...
around about half way through every movie i watch,the screen freezes,
goes blue and says disk error on the screen..every time!
also..on the dvd's display unit, the chapter lists flies upward(eg
from Chapter 11....to last chapter on disk)
(i've tried this on numerous region2 discs!)
i then have to unplug the player to stop it as no buttons
work,(eject/power off etc)
wat can i do to fix this?
please help asap!

1) Try running a DVD/CD cleaning disk on the drive (Maxell makes one that sells for approximately $10US)

2) If that doesn't work, you might consider spending $40 or so for a brand new DVD ROM...
