what to do? i need help

whenever i play certain .avi's, they are way too slow and jumpy. some .avi's play just fine. i think i may have too many codecs installed... can anyone help me as far as getting rid of the codecs or fixing the slow avi problem.

Find something called Codec Sniper.
Or if you have a codec pack uninstall it and install FFDShow..
Also give me some specs on your computer.
