    Need Software for joining mpg files

    Hi,

    I´m cutting mpg files with MPEG2Cut. Now I´m searching for a program to join the clips. (I´ve tested some ...) The program should not render video or sound. Best would be freeware.

    Thanks!

      Sorry,

      my mistake not to tell You, that I want to join mpeg2 and want to have output in mpeg2. I read on virtualdub.org, that only reading mpeg1 is supported.

      rehelp needed.

      PS.: Has somebody a idea, why mpeg2cut (1.15) don´t play sound? (Other programs play, system was restarted)

        TMPGEnc>>File>>MPEGTools>>Merge&Cut

        Load files in the desired sequence

        Make certain to set mode to "MPEG-2 (VBR)"

        Enter a new filename in the Output box

        Click on the "Run" radio button

        Let us know of your success ;>}

          I´ve tested TMPGEnc some time before and was not satisfied, and now I have no license for mpeg2... . I´ll try to fix. Other suggestions?

            AVI_MPEG_RM_WMV Joiner can be found on CNet for $20 (they give you a short trial.) It's made by Boilsoft, and is drag and drop idiot-proof. HJSplit is freeware and has excellent MPEG2 joining capabilities...but you have to rename your files in the following manner: Movie.mpg.001, Movie.mpg.002, Movie.mpg.003...The files must be in the same folder...Select the .001 file and HJSplit finds the rest and joins and leaves you with Movie.mpg

              My browser has somehow reposted my last message. Cause I see no possibility to delete I´d changed it to this. After testig You´ll get the results.

                Had you said the Boilsoft and HJSplit joiners don't work I was gonna jump thru the screen and strangle you . I've used them hundreds of times just in the last 2 months to join MPEG2 files. Both give seamless joins...and HJSplit freeware seems to work better than the Boilsoft...but you have to rename the files (which is one more place for a newbie to make an error.)
