    Video Errors

Quick question for you guys, what causes a video to have errors. While playing a movie, the video freezes at a particular spot but the audio keeps playing fine. Did I not encode it correctly, and are there any programs to fix these type of errors?

    Thanks in advance

divx3 might have frozen frames; i.e. transcoding errors

divx5 might have the option SMOOTH PLAYBACK activated in the codec settings - turn it off if you were using divx5 or better use ffdshow as playback filter

If it's an .AVI file (DivX-compressed or otherwise), load the file into the latest VirtualDub or VirtualDubMod and scan for errors. If any are detected, select "mask bad frames" and save with a new filename...

There are heaps of software that can fix those frozen frames. Some of it, you can find at Doom9
go to the download section, you can find the required software to fix the problem. Those that mentioned by others are great also.

one new solution, perhaps you ought to try xvid for your encoding maybe.
