    Nero

When using Nero to make VCD's from downloaded movies, I have the problem that the film while ok on the hard drive is turned upside down when encoded and copied with Nero. Does anyone know if this is a common problem and is there a way round it? I have used multiple CDR's and it is starting to get frustrating.

This is a common flaw with NERO.

Use TMPGEnc to convert your video to MPEG1-VideoCD format (NOT "plain vanilla" MPEG1) and then use NERO ONLY to burn the VCD (NOT to create the VCD, since you'll have already done this)...

Tmpgenc is free, only the Super-vcd feature needs to paid for
        - The question is: Why?
