    playing movies crash my comp

    so i just formatted my comp (xp pro sp1, media player 9, 1900+, 768ram,voodoo 5) and realized i needed some codecs to play my moves... so i downloaded the nimo codec pack and like a moron check every codec (except the divx and xvid codecs which i had already installed). well now after a movies plays for about 5 minutes my comp crashes and restarts. argh help

    reinstall the chipset driver like the via hyperion/4in1 or whatever your board is equipped with.

      i installed the hyerion 4in1 (my mobo is an iwill kk266plus, its via) and restarted, but im still getting crashes.

        Uninstall the Nimo pack and reboot - then, if necessary, uninstall and reinstall your DivX and Xvid codecs (or the "ffdshow" filter that many posters here seem to favor)...

          i unistalled nimo after the first crash, but i didnt think to unistall the xvid and divx codecs since i didnt select them when i installed the nimo codec pack. problem seems to be fixed, at least it hasnt crashed yet
