eovideo ratio setting

hi guys i really need some help here, im using the software eovideo and basically i wanna convert a svcd file into vcd so i can play it on my dvd player since my dvd player dont play svcds
anyway the software seems quiet straight forward, i just wanna know because am in the uk wot ratio settings to put, so if anyone from the uk uses the same software can you kindly repy with some help, very much appreciated

TMPGEnc/CCE is easier to use. Read the guides at dvdrhelp.com or doom9.org or divx-digest.com

well ive checked all them sites etc and ive noticed that eo video is just a few clicks of ur mouse and ur all set, but with the methods u have suggested its a long process, correct? y wud u say using tmpgenc is easier? please explain

Use TMPGEnc as follows:

File>>MPEGTools>>Simple Multiplex

Load your SVCD file

Change mode to "MPEG1-VideoCD"

Enter a new filename in the "Output" box

Press the "Run" radio button

(Do not be concerned about any "Buffer underflow" messages you may see)

(The above should take approximately 5 minutes)

Burn (DO NOT ask burning software, such as NERO to CONVERT to VCD, rather merely BURN as a VCD)

thanx setarip it did convert but then when i tried to burn it using easy cd creator i got the error msg:
"the file will not work in a vcd player, to make this file video cd comliant, you will need to use an mpeg encoder that supports video cd encoding"
:s so how am i spose to burn it? :| got past one hurdel another pops up

Use NERO or VCDEASY to burn instead. The "trick" mentioned by Setarip supposedly "tricks" your dvd player into believing that the svcd is a vcd, and hence should allow you to play the svcd in your dvd player without having to actually convert the file, and avoid the quality loss that comes from svcd to vcd conversion.

ok i tried to burn it with a few softwares now including nero, but still same errors, it dont seem to have been converted into a vcd does anyone else have any advice? plz

What version of NERO are you using? What is the precise error NERO gives you?

In NERO turn off standard compliance.

so batman basically wot ur saying is when i get the error msg i should just ignore it and carry on burning and then fingers crossed it should work?

If NERO tells you that the file does not comply with vcd standards then you can turn off standard compliance and try to burn the file.

In NERO be sure to burn your fake vcd as a VCD not an SVCD.

batman i am using ahead nero, can you explain wot u mean by turning of standard compliance? how do i do that?

In NERO select the vcd template, then load your mpg file (the "fake" vcd you created in TMPGenc) into NERO.

Then, either NERO will accept the file and you can burn directly, or NERO may decide to display a dialog box informing you that the vcd you are attempting to burn is non compliant. In this box you should be given the option to "turn off standard compliance".

hi guys ok i did wot u said, and it did burn when i played it the copy was terrible all green and blotchy i dont think its a very good way of doing it :| lol any other suggestions?

The problem you describe could be due to the media you are using and the burning speed. Burn at the lowest possible speed and try high quality media (verbatim, memorex, kodak, maxwell).
