Hi. I have a slow PC that I try to use as a mulitmedia PC. As i worked on optimizing it, I found it quite difficult to seeking out the bottlenecks , as well as simply find out what the different terms meant.
As i have struggeled with this a few weeks now, I have gathered quite a few experiences that i want to share. The HOWTO is posted at, feel free to add/correct/suggest. It is by no mean finished, but the earlier i get things ironed out, the better the result will be.
