    DVD over network?

My preliminary search for info on this topic has returned no information. I have a DVD player installed on one PC in my house. I want to know if it is possible to play a DVD on another computer over my LAN. From the remote computers, I can see the DVD drive on the network and access files on it. I can even play DivX files from it over the network, but I can't get the DVD to launch.

PowerDVD won't let me designate the networked drive as a DVD player either.

Is this even possible? Thanks for any help.
