    subtitle question

    hi,
all i want to do is overlay a text url onto a movie
just sitting there in a lower corner of the screen, the full duration of the movie

is a subtitler what ppl use?
what is the absolute simplest way to do this?
i'd even pay good for a application that did this in batch processing.
    please, any and all suggestions
virtual dub seems far too much work for this.
i'd like to keep the work load to a minimum....i have alot of movies to add a url to

    thanks

"virtual dub seems far too much work for this."

Using VirtualDub with Donald Graft's logo filter requires virtually no effort at all - only the time it takes for VirtualDub to process the video...

You might benefit from first going to the index page, clicking on "Logo Filter" (Under the "VirtualDub" category) - and reading about its use:

Neuron2.net – Xvid, Divx, Mpeg-4, Hevc, Openh264 & Other Video Codecs In the realm of digital media, video codecs play a critical role in how we capture, compress, decode, and display video on various devices. As someone with a keen interest in multimedia technology, I’ve explored and utilized various video codecs such as Xvid, DivX, […]

            i make a 24bit gif
open it in the filter settings
            i then select preview
            it crashes
            i get this

An out-of-bounds memory access (access violation) occurred in module 'Logo'...
...while running filter "logo (1.4)" (FilterSystem.cpp:516).

            ugh
            i'm sure this is common
as in, i'm doing something commonly wrong
i left the settings as default
the first time i tried it, and then selected preview, it worked
i didn't change anything, now it doesn't like it

            any suggestions?
i'm so close yet so far

            thanks so much

              "i make a 24bit gif"

If I remember correctly, Donald Graft's logo filter requires .BMPs...

this is the craziest stuff i've ever seen
ok, so i made new bitmaps
they show up in preview, i just can't get the coordinates to move
rather, i change the coordinates, but they do not show in preview
                  does that sound right?

                    got this crap again
i selected how i wanted the filter to show
i selected ok to exit out of filter settings
selected for the filter to "dub"
                    then this crash

there has to be something easier

are there fail proof way/settings in using this filter?
please indicate what they could be
surely one doesn't need an engineering degree to accomplish what i'm trying to do
                      a simple static text
