    DVDShrink and DVD XCopy Express

Both of these products compress video and not all compression is equal. Also, Express copies only the movie to enhance quality of the product. My question is: Will DVDShrink copy a backup made by DVD XCopy Express without trying to compress it further? (I assume no compression is used if none is needed.)

    Thanks!

I guess that DVD X COPY makes DVD copys of which
you can make no further copies.

This is at least what the developers say!!

This is also the reason why I am not using this tool.

DVD shrink will not recompres it if you select no compression.

I am not sure what you intend to do but, I know
that if I give you further advicde in how to read
DVD X copies I might break some forum rules .... sorry!!

Maybe you should refer to some other websites
which will surley provide you with appropriate tools.
like gamecopyworld or CD media world.

    good luck in searching

Shiny: When I copy my own movies, I want just the movie. No FBI screens, no trailers, no commentaries and no more than one disk. I like DVD X Copy Express for that reason. I also generally hate compression, but have to admit that many of these programs do a great job in keeping visual quality.

As of now I certainly have no plans to copy a copy made with DVD X Copy Express, but wondered if 321Studios added its own copy protection to the mix. I suppose I could just try it, but thought it would be easier to ask here.

I just downloaded DVD Shrink and will give it a try tonight.

      Thanks.

Yes. The packaging, documentation, and built-in "Help" files all make it clear that you cannot copy a copy...
