    MPEG2 problem

I installed elecard media player awhile ago and forgot about it cause i never used it. Now whenever I watch a vcd elecards's logo bounces around the screen (in win media player) and tells me I have to register, so I uninstalled elecard, but then the movies wouldn't play. I reinstalled win media 9, and all my codecs but I still can't get any vcd's to work. Anyone know how to fix this?

Yes, this problem is of course because the elecard codecs
    trial version has expired.

there are several solutions to the problem.

1.get win dvd or power dvd to display your VCDs
    or
2.if you are running nero as burning program get the svcd plugin.
it is a standalone plugin that, if installed, provides a codec for mpeg files.
    or
    3. get the tsunami filter pack from here.

in this case make sure that you only install the codecs that
you need. do not fall for the "I install everything so I can read anything".
if you are not sure how to deal with the big one there is also
    a small version.

you can still modify it afterwards if your needs alter.

    good luck!!!

I installed the tsunami mini pack and now they play in win media, but power dvd freezes when i load a file, it's no problem though cause I like win media better. Thanks for the help.
