Flaskmpeg does not detect audio

Flaskmpeg does not detect any audio in an unencrypted vob file
There is indeed audio there, but I guess the format is not the usual one that flask expects.

I would be grateful for any help on how to extract the audio from the vob and join it to the silent video that I got from flask

Flask is unable to process either DTS audiostreams or LPCM audiostreams.

If the audiostream is in LPCM format, try using MPEGMediator instead of Flask...
