    1) Load the video file into VirtualDub (or one of its many variants) or NanDub

    2) From the "File" dropdown menu, select "File Information"

    3) Post (here) EVERYTHING you see (BOTH video and audio information), or post a screen capture .jpg of the information box

"even Gspot confirm that the codec is installed but i still get the same error with no sound."

The information from VirtualDub's "File Information" screen appears to be legitimate. Therefore, I'd suggest that you try to play the file under a software DVD player that also has .AVI playback capability - such as WinDVD...

Which is it that worked for you - the filter suggested by UncasMS or playing it under WinDVD? (or, perhaps, both?)

WinDvd play it with sound . divx has problem with it

i think that from the moment i install ac3filter and GSpot tells me that the codec is installed InterVideo could play it but the sound is very low and my speakers wasnt highe volume.

so the problem was the missing of the ac3. GSpot never get wrong!

                  Thanks

"WinDvd play it with sound . divx has problem with it"

Download DVDGenie. Select the WinDVD tab. Click on the "More" radiobutton. Click on "Register filters with Windows".

                    Reboot your system.

Now try playing the video in Windows Media Player...
