Help! DVD+RW plays jitterish on standalone player

OK, been at this for some time now. I can rip a dvd to my HD no prob. I can get it to get encoded to a *d2v project and then encoded to an dvd mpeg2 using the latest tmpgenc engine. I then am using Ulead studio to get the mpeg2 to a dvd+rw with my HP100i. that part works. When I then play the dvd+rw in my dvdrom drive it plays fine (sytem xp1900, w/762mb ram and geforce3 ti500). I then tried to play the DVD+RW in my supported panasonic drive and also on my xbox the image comes out jitterish, sound is fine and image quality is great, it's just jummpy. Any ideas on this last part that I'm doing wrong would be great. I'd be willing to share in detail more details if it would help.
