Problem: Can't convert AverMedia .dss file to anything workable

I have a *.dss file and it's complimentary *.log file that I need to convert to a workable .avi or .mpg in order to record to a cd for viewing on a DVD or CDROM.

The file was produced by a Security Digital Video Recorder (DVR) and you can only play the file back using AverMedia's software.

My client needs this file on a DVD or (S)VCD in order to show the court system what took place. We cannot drag the DVR into the court room and I have recieved little to no support from AverMedia.

The files used for the CODEC are MPG4C32.dll, mpg4ds32.ax, and MPG4vki.inf.

I will gladly post the CODEC files, *.dss file and its associated *.log file if anyone thinks they can help (ZIP is 4,137 KB)

Any direction you can give or any assistance you can lend would be mighty appreciated.

You can use Camtasia to capture (in .AVI format, if I remember correctly) the video as it plays back on your PC's monitor...

        To Troy

I was just wondering if you were aware that you were posting to a thread that is over one year old...
