How to extract still image from video stream

    Hi,

My buddy gave me a DVC containing my Wedding Ceremony.
I've just send it for conversion into a VCD. What I am hoping is that someonce can shed some light on how do I extract still images from the movie in the converted VCD (any software to recommend??) or is it better that I extract it from the DV camcorder itself? (I don't own any.. )

Thanks so much for your help...

    Smiles

    1) Load the MPEG-1VCD file (named AVSEQ001.DAT) into VirtualDub

    2) Move the slider to the frame you wish to copy

    3) From the "Video" dropdown menu, select "Copy to clipboard'

    4) Open any "paint" or graphics program

    5) Select "Paste" to load your captured image

    6) Save as .JPG, .BMP, or any other desired graphic format

    OR

If you use a software DVD player, such as WinDVD, to play the VCD, simply press "P" to capture a .BMP...

just hit, "print screen" in the movie on the frame you want, and paste it in paint.

        To gixxerman

"just hit, "print screen" in the movie on the frame you want, and paste it in paint."

With a video, that will only yield a black box - unless you turn off hardware acceleration...

Use MV2 Player to extract all or selected images from VCD tracks.
