    tmpgenc pro 2.2 problem

    hi ive used tmpgenc to encode a avi, all sorted then i wanted to split it, i managed to do the first half, but on the second half it does the video, and audio but when it comes to writing to file it crashes like proper not responding, one way i thought would be to cut the first half of the movie and only have to do one split but i aint a clue and the software makers dont wana know.

    going out of my mind
    wish i hadent started with vcd's

    plus ive blown 127mb of ram (puff its gone)

    I'm sorry - are you stating that you're trying ti use TMPGEnc to split (cut) an AVI file?

    TMPGEnc isn't capable of performing that ask with .AVI files - only MPEG (1 and 2) formats.

        "helllooooooooooo" to you as well...

        Your posting was not very clear. I think I now understand that you were trying to express that you had CONVERTED/TRANSCODED an AVI file into an MPEG file - without indicating if it is in MPEG1, MPEG1-VideoCD, MPEG2, or MPEG2-Super Video CD, format.

        If TMPGE consistently crashes upon trying to save the second half, a simple workaround would be to first split the .AVI file in VirtualDub and then use TMPGEnc to convert the .AVIs to (whatever) MPEG format individually.

        As far as your (PC's) fried memory, I can only empathize.

        Let us know of your success ;>}

            Don't sweat it, your apology is readily accepted ON ONE CONDITION:

            Keep us apprised of your efforts with MediaStudio and/or my suggested solution ;>}

              once i got mediastudio i realised how complicated it was so i dint bother, i just deleted the film but on the others i am now using ya method and everythings working like a charm, except for the last half of every film when i encode in tmpge it gets to 99% then stops but films okay.

              cheers

                Do't know why it's stopping at 99%, but if you say the videos okay, then who could ask for anything more?

                Glad to hear of your success ;>}
