    Aver DVD EZ Maker Pci

I've found this about a new Card. It seems to be nice and a nice price too.

AVer Information is a global solution provider for education and business with its video conferencing visualizers (document cameras) charging & sync carts and OEM/ODM service.

Does anybody have one? Should I buy this card for capturing my old VHS tapes?

    quoting your link:

    "DVD Format
    MPEG-2 VBR (5Mbps Average, 8.1Mbps Maximum)
PCM Audio 48KHz/16 bits 2 Channels"

the "pcm audio format" sounds a little strange to me.... this WILL make
BIG audiofiles unless you transcode it to 48khz mpeg1 layer 2.
but the resolution and the bitrate regarding the video is not bad...

the price is also quite ok but a little more information on
what hardware encoder chip (if used) would be fine.
since the implemented features (hard or software) are
able to do mpeg1 layer 2 realtime audiosamplings I wonder
why the chip is not fast or good enough to do it also in DVD compliant
mode , but only in vcd svcd compliant format........
maybe spend some dollars more and get a card that has a
realtime mpeg2 encoderchip along with a tuner or even digital tuner!!
