This is really strange i just downloaded Lord of the rings on a VCD format and WMP (win xp pro) Wont play the video (sound no problem). And ive downloaded every codec i could get my hands on any ideas???

The problem is not in the codecs! I have a copy of 'Planet of the Apes' with this problem (on some computers, some, video runs, but the problem is in the audio track), but you can fix the problem using VirtualDub... I fix my copy in this manner... I can't remeber details... i believe that extract the video to a file (only video) and the audio to another, then I join the audio and video again (and do a 'full process' of the audio, using mp3 codec)...
