XVID to VCD, SVCD or DVD

I am new to this forum so I will get down to business. I am trying to convert xvid to svcd using various programs (DVD2SVCD, Cucusoft, TMPGEnc & Virtualdub(VD), Virtualdubmod (VDmod) and nandub). I read the majority of information posted here on this subject with no luck. I have loaded the nimo codec which allowed me to use VD, VDmod and nandub to get the avi file information. DVD2SVCD freezes when I try to convert. I changed the directshow priority (higher) in TMPGEnc, but that did not work. My avi information is below:
    Video Stream
    FPS: 576x320, 23.976fps (41708us)
    Length: 144432 frames (1:40:24.02)
    Decompressor: XVID MPEG-4 Codec
    Number of key frames: 1750
    min/avg/max/total key frame size: 2014/11687/49527 (19974k)
    Min/avg/max/total delta frame size: 103/4145/28029 (577583k)
Data rate: 813 kbps (0.56% overhead)
    Audio Stream
    Sampling rate: 48000Hz
    Channels: 2 (Stereo)
    Sample precision: N/A
Compression: Fraunhofer IIS MPEG Layer-3 Codec
    Layout: 250996 chunks (O.02s preload)
    Length: 104403168 samples (1:40:24.07)
    Min/avg/max/total frame size: 96/415/480 (101957K)
Data rate: 139 kbps (5.46% overhead)

I don't claim to be smart with DIVX, but very dangerous. I would appreciate any assistance.

Your video contains a Variable Bitrate ("VBR") .MP3 audiostream, which TMPGEnc cannot process:

Using VirtualDubMOD to Convert "VBR" .MP3 to Uncompressed .WAV

    1) Load the .AVI file into VirtualDubMOD (a different program than the standard VirtualDub)

    2) From the "Video" dropdown menu, select "Direct Stream Copy"

    3) From the "Streams" dropdown menu, select "Stream List" - and rightclick on the audio stream, then select "Full Processing Mode" - then click on "OK"

    4) Save with a new filename

Additionally, download and install the FFDShow filter...

Thanks setarip, but no go. I followed your instructions but now when I encode TMPGEnc shuts down after about 5 minutes. No error message at all. Any idea what's going on?

Have you successfully played the XviD-compressed .AVI file, from start to finish?

You might try uninstalling the notorious Nimo codec "pack" and then downloading and installing ONLY the codecs that you actually need (DivX, XviD, FFDShow filter)...

avi file has been played start to finish, works perfectly. Just uninstalled the nimo codec. TMPGEnc gives me a privilege error!

Did you also INSTALL DivX codec, XviD codec, FFDShow filter?

            If so, reboot your system...

I re-installed all the codecs you reference. TMPGEnc shuts down without an error message. I have rebooted the system and still no luck. How are you with DVD2SVCD (converting an avi)? Thanks for your suggestions if you can think of any more please let me know.

This may be a dumb question, but I will ask it anyway. Does anyone think Norton 2003 System Works could affect DVD2SVCD or Cucusoft. I have checked my avi files with divx repair and divfix and don't seem to have a problem.
