no sound with wmp, no pic with DivX

    Hi UncasMS,

after upgrading from win 2k to xp, my computer can no longer play my avi movies correctly, even after installing DivX player and FFDshow. So I tried to find help from Gspot but really can't understand what it is "telling" me....
my problem is, when i play the movie with wmp, pic is perfect but no sound. when i play with Divx player, no sound and the pic is decoded incorrectly (all green)
    so, can you please help?

the Gspot is telling me this:

    Audio Format:
    Code: 0x2000
    Name: WAVE_FORMAT_AC3
    Vendor: Dolby Laboratories, Inc

Gspot was unable to find an audio codec which will decompress this format.

DirectShow was also able to find a codec to render it - the sound for this media clip should work fine.

See the DirectShow Render details for more info.

    Thanks

You have to download and install an .AC3 filter/codec...

        Re: No sound and picture

I will recommend you to get Bsplayer and Tsunami Filter Pack 3.9.9 and then install Xvid and Divx 5.03, thats how it works on my Win ME system and after some childrensdiseases it works fine.

in addition to that I want to add a little warning.....

when using the tsunami pack 3.9.9.... make sure that you set
it up in custom mode installing only the filters and tools you absolutly need .... also be careful since there are more than one AC3 filters offered.....

if unsure what to install you can still use the small tsunami
filter pack 3.9.6.....and add the xvid codec by hand.....
