My system won't recognize blank dvd-r media. It sees it as an audio cd. I had a Sony DRU-510A and it wouldn't burn to dvd-r. I exchanged it for a Pioneer DVR-A06U, and it has the same problem.
I have tried blank dvd-r media from Sony, Memorex and Verbatim, all with the same results. Both drives burned dvd+r media with no problem.
I am using both dvdxcopy platinum and Veritas Record now DX. I also have Nero 6 installed on the system. All of this is installed on a P4 system running Win98SE.
I am thinking it is not a software or a media issue, but something with my system. Any help would be great, as I'm about to put my foot through the case!
