    divx vs. ffdshow

    Hi people!
I wonder what's going on. When I play my .avi (divx4: 704-560pixels) file with divx to decode with both, deblocking & deringerig, postprocessing, I'm getting almost 100% usage of my processor (AMD Athlon XP 1700+ Palomino),but with ffdshow with the same settings is only 30%. what's going on??? Is better ffdshow than divx or it is doing it with decrease of quality or something?

    FFDShow is simply more resource-effective...

yea thats about it. the DivX codec is a resource hog. The new 5.1.1 version produces (in my opinion) a cleaner image now then ffdshow but it;s still a resource hog.

          "& that's all ?"

          No.

There are far more to FFDShow than the basic DivX decoder can hope to match.
