New DVD won't play (old newbie)

So... I don't use the DVD player on my computer very often and I thought I'll try it again. It won't play a newly released DVD.

It will play a real old one just fine.

Is there something on the new DVDs that keeps it from playing on a computer?

    I updated my software(Power DVD)

I have a PII 400 mghz machine with lots of memory (384)

I have Power DVD and I couldn't play new DVD's until I found this website. By downloading the TV TOOL I was able to turn off the macrovision and everything works fine now. Many thanks to the good people at DVD Digest!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yea sometimes DVDs get in a bad mood if you play em on a PC with a graphics card that has TV_Out. They dont seem to have any respect for fair use and assume becose having the TV_Out gives you the ability to copy the DVD that you WILL copy the DVD.

Well glad you got it to work It's always fun to undermine there protections that impare fair use.
