    dvd x copy platinum

anyone know what program to use to use all the dvd's space.

i made a back up of a 90 min dvd, and the size was 4.9GB so dvd x copy compressed it by about 11% or something.

after it was done there was quite a bit of unused dvd left. (looked at the surface and lots was not written on.)

what can i do to compress the 4.9 to like 4.7 so if takes the whole dvd...

The true amount of free space on a burnable DVD is 4.37GB - or about 11% less than the 4.9Gb filesize you've mentioned. Unless your program failed in some way, there should be virtually no writable space left on your burnable DVD.

You might want to try (excellent freeware) DVD Shrink (either v.2.3 or v. 3.0beta5) instead...

      cool, thanks.

dvd shrink will make an "image" or something on the hard drive,
will it compress the movie to approx 4.39gb?

after you get the image you need an application to write the image to dvd. what is a good program?

dvd X copy will not work will it?
