    TMPGEnc - filesize

    i was just wondering if anyone could help me using TMPGEnc. i'm tryin to make a VCD/SVCD with as high a resolution as possible, the film length is nearly 2hrs. if i try to produce a VCD the file size is just over 3000MB. has anyone got any advice (i obv wanna put it on CD-Rs)

    What settings are you using in TMPGEnc?

      erm...well im not actually alterign the settings, all the settings are on is VCD PAL, erm then i dunno wot resolution to put (16:9 625 preferably)...any advice?

        1) Under the "Video" tab, make certain the bitrate is set to 1,150

        2) Under the "audio" tab, make certain that "Stream type" is set to "MPEG I - LayerII" and "Sampling Frequency" is set to 44,100Hz

          i 'm sorry for asking u a question again but can u please help me

          I've got an anime (around 20minutes) and the size is 174MB
          ...HOWEVER when i encoded it to MPEG 1 video....the file increases until around 700 something MB which only can fit into one VCD

          This is the properties of this anime:

          media length : 23 min. 14.686sec.

          audio format:MPEG Layer-3,159 kBit/s, 48,000 Hz, Stereo

          video format: 640 x 480, 33439 Frames, 23.976 Frames/Sec, 128 KB/Sec, Unknown Format

            u may get better responce if u start a new thread.
            anyway if ur file is divx encoded avi, that explains the smaller file size.

            also u need to encode it to vcd complient mpeg1 file thats 352*288 / 352*240[ntsc] 1150 max bitrate, mpeg1 layer II 224 kb audio.
            Seems like as soon you buy somehing, v. 2 comes out 1.5 times as fast!..!
