DVD-RW Woes

At the risk of seeming really dense and repeating Johnnyknoxville's problem, here goes

I have a sony viao desktop with a DVD-RW drive but am having problems burning DVD's with Nero, it won't regcognise that there is a Disk in the Drive (however when you right click the drive, it does!)

I am running Nero 6.0.0.11 (full version) do I need to upgrade to 60028 as well?????

Can you post some more infos? I would like to know:
1. What DVD-RW drive you are using (Go to Nero and go to the "Select Burner" dialog, it'll give you the model number)
2. What kind of media are you using? (Which brand, what kind of disk)
3. Updating to a later version of Nero seems wise anyways.
