    avi to vcd

    Hi all

I'm new to this whole media stuff. So if anyone can help it would be greatly appreciated.

    My problem:
I've got this avi file that has been encoded with the xvid and the audio uses the AC3 DVM compression. When I try to write this file as a vcd then i loose the sound. Can anyone help me please.

    thanx

Although you haven't stated, I'm presuming that you have an .AC3 audio codec/filter installed on your system - and that you're using TMPGEnc for the conversion.

In TMPGEnc, under the "Environmental Settings" "VFAPI plugin" tab rightclick on the "Direct Show Multimedia Reader" and increase to the highest priority. This will enable TMPGEnc to accept a properly encoded .AVI with .AC3 audio for input...
