How to convert VCD to avi/mpeg?

Hi all, Can anyone tell me how to convert VCD to Avi.mpeg please? There are quite a few files on the VCD, but I don't know which file to use and what program to use. It seems that there is a lot of DVD to Avi program but not VCD to avi.

Load the .DAT file into VirtualDub or VIrtualDubMOD for conversion to .AVI...
