I would say the minimum is 500Hz 16Mb RAM, but the minimum specs for DivX also depend heavily on the kind of player, the programs running in the background, playing directly from HD and so on.

for instance WMPlayer (and specially the 7.0 and up) need a lot of processorpower as to BSPlayer which is satisfied with very little

There are some sopecs i read concerning the Radlight-player
      CPU: P233MMX
      RAM:16MB RAM
      Video: PCI 4MB CARD
      Audio: SB-Comp.
      OS: W9x/ME/XP/NT/2000
      DirectX: 6.1 and higher
mind you these are publiced by the software-makers, so a little grain of salt is recommended.

So actually the best advise i can give you is try various players and stick to the one that does the trick for you

an important factor is THE DIVX QUALITY!!!

you may be able to play a 1 cd rip with an old 400mhz / 64mb ram or something alike and it should play without stuttering.

in case we are talking about a 2-3 cd rip with (much more) bitrate you should rather think of ~650+ mhz!

It works on a celeron 350, but only if you have a graphic-card that can do the resizing (very old cards don't have hardware-resizing). I also tried it in a celeron 300, but it didn't work well with high resolution (bigger than 640). On non-intel-cpus it seems that you need at least 450MHz. Maybe DivX works better with intel-cpus.
With a slow cpu it seems that "The playa" works best.
