    i need recommendations

    I have an
    AMD Duron w/ 900mhz
    640mb ram
but i think tht is too litle to edit videos. I have premiere 6.5 but occasionally it crashes. i cant preview the movie. i have to render it to just preview it. and tht takes too long. I been thinking of buying a new prosecessor or even a new motherboard. So give me your opinion on this and recommendation for a new processor for editing ameateur video.

going for new hardware is good but do ty video studio 7 or power director 3 before doing that.

get Athlon Xp with 512 cache 333 buss anything above 1.5 ghz actual speed. better to get one with 2.0 ghz actual speed, fast atleast 7200 rpm harddisk. these Athlon's usually called Barton core.

or get p4 2.6 with hyper threadng.

    depends on ur price range
Seems like as soon you buy somehing, v. 2 comes out 1.5 times as fast!..!

go for Athlon xp 2500 barton or above

get any mother board frm either MSI, GIGABYTE, ASUS. get one with either nforce 2 ultra or via 400/600 chip.

total will be round 300 if u search.

I would recommend these sites instead of THG:

              AnandTech

              X-bit Labs

              Cheers.
