    Wondering

    Hi

i am trying to make back up copies of my dvd's. i have ripped the vob files using smart ripper and have checked these through my media player to see if they are alright before i carry on. Unfortunately to my horror the sound cannot be heard but instead it is the director talking about the film while the film is running. Now i take this to be a copy protection thing ?, but is there a way around it, if so can someone please help!!!!!!!!

thanx to smartripper this is quite simpel:

sr creates a textfile named 'VTS*INFO.TXT'

take a look at this file

you'll find 'stream info', which tells you what stream is which language (etc).

            Hello,

I seem to have the same problem : I have a divx movie with 2 audio streams; 1 is the soundtrack of the movie, but the other is just the director talking.
When i play the movie with Windows Media PLayer, i hear the 2 streams simultaneously; however, when i play it with The Playa, or in VirtualDub, i only get the soundtrack.
So my question is, is there a way, with windows media player for example, to choose the audio stream u want ?

            ty,
            Ozymandias

Sorry I have no answers for you lot.
Just wanted to say that Ozy's name is cool.
Is that a proper name or were you in to The Tripods?
              Cool.

@Ozy: You can open it in VirtualDUB and save it with DirectStreamCopy. VD would only copy the 1st audio-track. Or u use graphedit to make a graph-file that points at the video and one of the audio-streams. That Graph-file can be played with WMP.

                  re-above

or you could rip the right audio track in stream processing where it gives a list of all available audio tracks just click on the video and audio track usually the first two

                    hello,

-> Comfy Gray : thanks man ! Actually, i got the name from the comic "The Watchmen". I didn't read the Tripods books and haven't got a chance to watch an episode unfortunately.

-> benderman : thanks a lot for the solutions ! both worked perfectly. i didn't know graphedit, and it really is a great tool.

                      save your time, ozy!

you can easily make wmp play any language you want it to!

all you'll need is a filter called morgan stream switcher

install the latest tsunami filterpack and rightclick into your file in wmp (6.4). this way you will have access to the audio stream you like!
