    Slit Problem with DVDShrink

Hi, I have a problem by using DVDshrink v3.1.4.
I try to copy a Karaoke DVD 8Gb to 4.7Gb DVD. As result, there is no way to compress it to fit in 4.7Gb DVD. I try to drop out some songs by doing this way (based on my first time burning dvd experience )
Cause the songs I wanna drop out are randomly. For instant, few songs in the middle (chapter 11 to 20) are droped out. What I was doing is draft title 1 from the right window to left window twice. The first part I start frame from chapter 1 and end frame at chapter 10, same 21 to 41 in second part.

After all, a new dvd was created, and it could play on regular DVD player too. The problem that I could press NEXT button on the remote control from chapter 1 to 10 but it refuse jumb to chapter 11 unless wait till chapter 10 ended, and it's ok to press next from chapter 11 and so on. Seems it stuck at the second part that I slit. Anyone has any idea to help me out of this problem. Your reply much appreciate.

    ????????

Nickname? Try v. 3.0 Beta 5 to make clip in re-author mode with Start/End feature for multiple clips. Go to dvdshrink.info (by ddlooping) and peruse some easy to understand guides to using 'Shrink.

Use the fast forward button on Chapter 10 to hurriedly arrive @ Chapter 11. There are some proggies which would give you "professional" results, but that would require a learning curve for a trifle. However, undoubtedly Setarip or another "demiGod" could point you to a commercial $$$ solution or might point you to a freeware solution. My remote control has three FF speeds.

Finally, does your remote control have a title button whereby you could skip to the next title (Title 2, etc.)?

      To homelessz

You could load both TITLES that you've created ("The first part I start frame from chapter 1 and end frame at chapter 10, same 21 to 41 in second part.") into ONE track in "TMPGEnc DVD Author" (Different than "TMPGEnc"). Doing so will make your problem disappear...

Thanks Quality's Proof and Setarip. I can skip to next chapter by using Title button now. Well, I'll try TMPGEnc DVD Author and let see if it works.
One more question I wanna ask. Can I pick songs from different DVDs and burn it into one collection DVD by using DVDShrink? And how.
        Thanks for reading.
PS: If this problem is already discussed, please give me the link then. Thanks again

If you have a title button on your remote control, then you could use it as a chapter ("CLIP") to view each different song.

You could get a freeware chapter maker and use such, but yes, you could rip 1 or more songs @ a time with 'Shrink and put into a folder and then combine up to 4 or 5 (forgot limit of 'Shrink windows openings) and keep on doing so until you have all songs together and then burn.

There are some freeware menu and chapter makers. Seems all you need to do is make chapters and see if 'Shrink will make that back-up.

DVDRhelp.com has some info. and links about such. Many of us like music videos and such back-ups have been done.

Wouldn't buy a software to do only one or a few discs, as even commercial software isn't that easy to use (not one-click).

Also, you may find 'Shrink 3. 0 Beta 5 easier to use in such a back-up.

You are in for a learning curve, either way if you make chapters, you can find freeware to make each song a different chapter and only one title. But, then you said you have title button on remote.

A D-5 could easily contain 20 or more high video quality songs, so best to convert into chapters with only 1 title, in case you loan to friend who doesn't have title button on remote.

What you are asking to do is what some call professional "results". Have you tried Windows movie maker 2 (you can download free from microsoft.com).

If you need help burning, post for only freeware solutions and we will try to help you.
