How to Deinterlace video Stream.

I was trying to rip movies like Termintor, and T2 and Independence Day. They look to have to have the two version of the movie combine into one stream. I might be wrong but there are 7 vob files for a movie that is an hour and 46 minutes.

Anyone have an idea how to tackle this one

1) They may have both a widescreen and a "standard" (4x3) screen version on one DVD, which would typically be comprised of two separate sequences of VOB numbers (e.g. Vts_1_01 through Vts_1_04 and Vts_2_01 through Vts_2_04).

2) They may have "multiple angles".

Have you played the actual DVDs? if so, which of the two abovementioned scenarios is applicable?

You've not made it clear in your posting - have you already ripped these DVDs and are having some problems when playing the ripped versions? If so, what are the specific problems?

Or are you merely speculating that the number of VOBs is indicative of something unusual?

The more information you provide, the greater the possibility of meaningful suggestions...

dont worry about the number of vob files.

id4 and t2 may well be remastered editions.
cant talk for your version of t1.

rip the movie and go for it.

concerning ID4: this film is interlaced

so dont waste your time encoding it without a proper de-interlacer (flask built-in e.g. wont do the job properly)
[check minute 2:27 when the red light is blinking or minute 4:22 the green light on the top left]
