Captured AVI wont open in TMPGenc

Heres the problem Im having. Im capturing some video from my Canon GL2 camera in Adobe Premiere. Im then taking that video, adding a watermark, and exporting the timeline to AVI. The AVI works fine when I double click it in windows, it opens in Windows Media Player and plays with the watermark in place. But when i open TMPGenc and then try to load the avi into it, it says the file "cannot open, or unsupported". What could be going wrong? Any and all help would be appreciated.

In TMPGEnc, under the "Environmental Settings" "VFAPI plugin" tab rightclick on the "Direct Show Multimedia Reader" and increase to the highest priority. This should allow TMPGEnc to accept a properly encoded AVI file.

If it still doesn't work download GSpot and check to see if your capture contains LPCM audio. If so, you'll need to convert it.
