Error message at start (new user)

I have just started using DVD Shrink 3.17 and having selected 'Open Disc' the information is accessed and displayed, after which I selected 'Main' which I assume is the main film. Having then selected 'Backup' to an image file on my hard disk, and then the target device as ISO Image, then 'OK' I get the following message at the encoding window.

DVD Encountered an error and cannot continue. Cop protection error. The request cannot be performed due to an I/O error.

Any ideas please...hapens on three DVD's
