    firewire ripping probs

    I have just got me a sony PC120E digital video camcorder and a firewire card to transfer all the video to my pc but the video is very big and when I convert to mpg it goes all fuzzy and crap. I dont know what I am doing wrong anyone got any ideas thanks.

    I am connecting with ilink DV out to the firewire card and grabing the video with MGI studio DV plus, what I want is to burn all my home video to CD in SVCD if I can.

    What software are you using to convert it to MPEG?

    "what I want is to burn all my home video to CD in SVCD if I can."

    Try using TMPGEnc (excellent freeware - soon to be commercial) - to convert your video directly to MPEG1-VideoCD format or MPEG2-Super VideoCD format, both ready-for-burning.

    Let us know of your success ;>}
