Right codec????????

i have smoe .avi video files .when i try to play them the media player starts to find a codec and then i get error "unable to download the codec"
i have insalled divx 5.03 player but i think there must be other codec to run that flie...
can any1 tell me where to get the codecs to play that avi file

1) Load the original video file into VirtualDub (or one of its many variants) or NanDub

2) From the "File" dropdown menu, select "File Information"

3) Post (here) EVERYTHING you see (BOTH video and audio information), or post a screen capture .jpg of the information box
