Help!!!how do you burn at 8 spped

My burner is an 8 speed but when i make a back up it only burns at 2.4.

This is most likely a limitation of the media you are using - both your drive and media must be rated at 8x.

Also, be careful because some media will work at the advertised speed only with certain burners.

I dont know what DVD Burner you have got, but I have got the pioneer 107. This writes at 8 speed on + and -. There is also a firmware upgrade that will allow it to burn Ritek 4 speed disks at 8 speed. I have used it for about 2 months now and no problems.
