    XviD crashes mplayer

    Hi.

I just installed ffdshow after having some troubles with xvid files - I didnt get any sound.

Now I have sound, but the media player crashes after a few seconds and a standard error message pop up.

Same **** happens when I try to play the file with PowerDVD.

According to GSpot everything is fine.

do you both use any codec pack? if so, throw them away.

codec pack like klite, nimo, tsunami...
what they install is never used and the only things it brings are conflicts.

be sure that you are using ffdshow-alpha (ffdshow-20030523.exe). check in ffdshow properties that it is configured to handle divx/xvid. you can try Media Player Classic to see filters in use while playing a video.
