I think the red & pink blocks in your videocd's are called block noise. Whenever i convert my divx to vcd, it goes from pretty divx to ugly block noise in the vcd. I suggest using noise reduction in TMPG's advanced tab or under i think the Quantize Matrix tab using the block noise reduction. Play around with the block noise reduction and let us know. Oh yeah, the block noise night also be a lack of bitrate to keep the video at a sufficient quality. Do these blocks appear in low-motion scenes or mostly in high-motion scenes?
