        is it a OS fault?
or the cd writer itself has to do somthing?

          very odd
my 5.5.10.54 reports 654Mb. I thought the last version I looked at had a 'seek recorder' routine but this looks like it would need a reinstall.

            reinstall of OS or Nero.
also does ASPI has to do anything as i dont remember installing ASPi drivers, though i know Nero comes with its own ASPI.

oops, I was refering to Nero only there!
I've never been satisfactorily explained to, just what the ASPI is for and who needs it! Yes, I've read Nero has it's own. I've also read recommendations to use an app called ForceASPI.

Mig$y only this morning has confronted the ASPI issue in http://forum.digital-digest.com/show...highlight=aspi
