Scrambled dvd picture

I have a DVD player on my computer. I have loaded the intervideo 4.0 program, and the sound plays fine, but the image is scrambled. I have looked everywhere to find "something" to turn off or on, but cannot find anything under multimedia or display.

Does anyone have any idea why the pic is scrambled and what setting I need to change in order to unscramble it?
