extract audio from video with Cool Edit 2000?

    hi,

    i have a problem:

    i have cool edit 2000.
i have a movie of *.avi type. in this movie, there is a song that i want to have in mp3 type.
i heard that in Cool Edit Pro, there is a possibility to "extract audio from video" but it doesn't seems to exist in Cool Edit 2000.
i tried to run the movie and to record in Cool Edit at the same time, but there is a loss of quality in the final mp3 file, and sometimes, there are breaks because the 2 softs (media player and cool edit) at the same time seems to be to heavy.

    how can i do?
maybe i need to install a new functionnality on my Cool Edit 2000 soft?
or maybe do i need to install another software to make that?

thanks a lot for your answers

Cool Edit Pro does it on some video files, but I haven't yet used 2000. You might want to try using VirtualDubMod. Load the video, and in the Streams list, save as WAV. Then open the WAV in Cool Edit and you should be able to cut the song and convert it to MP3.

You can use GoldWave to accomplish this. Simply "drag and drop" the .AVI onto the main GoldWave window. After GoldWave has extracted the audiostream, select the format (.MP3) and settings you want to save it with...
