No audio with Divx playback

When I playback a Divx movie I get a message that tells me that either I can not play the movie or play the movie without audio. It sounds like (no pun intended) a codec problem but I don't know how to rectify it.

Please help.

download & install an mp3 codec from http://www.divx-digest.com
if that does not work, download the "ffdshow' codec
