    autosplitting?

Hello, I am looking for a way to convert from divx to wmv and mpeg and a way to autosplit a movie into, lets say 5 pieces (all the same size).

I currently have tmpenc xpress to convert from divx to wmv and mpeg.

    any help appreciated.

    Thanks / Oskar

"a way to autosplit a movie into, lets say 5 pieces (all the same size)."

Use HJSPLIT.EXE. You can download it at:

Thanks for the reply, is there anyway to split the movie to 5 pieces I can watch?

1 avi --> 5 avis with the same size

      or

1 avi to 5 mpeg or 5 wmv etc?

"1 avi --> 5 avis with the same size"

        VirtualDub, VirtualDubMOD, or NanDub...

Splitting with VirtualDub (or any of its variants) or NanDub

1)Load your original (DivX-compressed or otherwise) .AVI into VirtualDub or NanDub
        2) Set BOTH "Video" and "Audio" to "Direct Stream Copying"
        3) From the "Edit" dropdown menu, select "Set Selection Start"
        4) Move slider to approximate one-fifth point
        5) From the "Edit" dropdown menu, select "Go to next keyframe"
        6) From the "Edit" dropdown menu, select "Set Selection End'
        7) From the "File" dropdown menu, select "Save as AVI" - Save as a new filename (e.g. "Movie1of5.avi").
        8) From the "Edit" dropdown menu, select "Set Selection Start"
        9) Move slider to approximate two-fifths point
        10) From the "Edit" dropdown menu, select "Set Selection End"
        11) From the "File" dropdown menu, select "Save as AVI" - Save as a new filename (e.g. "Movie2of5.avi").
        12) Repeat 8)-11) three more times

Thats one way to do it But it would take to much time. Isnt there any easy soft that just can split the movies up in chunks all with the same size fast and easy? Or do I have to do this manually?

"Thats one way to do it"

If you already know of another way to accomplish this, why did you post your question in the first place?!?

"But it would take to much time."

You've not done this, so how would you know how long it takes?!?

Actually, it will probably take all of about 5 minutes...

Sorry, my attention was not to make you upset.

Yes it's not a big deal to do this manually in Vdub if its 1 or 2 files. I split files in vdub everyday, but since I now have 300 moviefiles I would like to split into 5 scenes each I am looking for a simple solution to this.

I know you are a good guy, Ive seen you provide this board with alot of knowledge and appreciate youre help.
