Sound Difference ?

What is the difference between LPCM sound and the normal 2 or 5 channel sound? Is the LPCM sound necessary if the dvd comes with 5 channel sound as well? I am asking this because I am trying to backup Robin Williams and the LPCM sound file takes up more than a GB alone.

No. If you are backing-up the DVD, either the 2-channel or 5.1 (Ac3) track is the one you should select in order to cut down on the overall size of the project.
