    Stubborn codec - help needed

    Hi

I have an AVI file that is of sentimental value.

    It is 49MB in size.

I was (I am told) produced using a Creative Video Blaster Cam on a Windows 98 PC

As far as I can tell, the Codec is 'fourcc cjpc'

I think that the DLL for that Codec is 'ctwbjpg.dll'

I am trying to play it on a Windows 2000 Pro PC

    Tried using Windows Media Player
    JetAudio
    Divx
    Real
    Hero Video Convert

    All with no success

    I would like to either

Convert it to a more modern Codec or Video Format

    or

Find a Player that can be easily installed on
Windows 2000 Pro that will play it

    Help will be gratefully received
Thanks - in anticipation, I hope

Try downloading and installing the FFDShow filter - and then play the video in Windows Media Player or the DivX Player...

Thank you for your reply - I did and it didnt.

Media Player - just plays the sound !!

DivX is more helpful - it gives the following message:-

"The video file that you are opening includes video data that is not recognised by the DivX Player.

The file contains the following type of data:

      Video Data: FOURCC code "CJPG"

You may need to install a new video codec on your computer to watch this video."

      I think that I will put the file on a CD and . . . . ?!?! LOL

The following Google search link should provide you with a source for the required codec:

Thank you - WMP now plays it - whooooppee !! Good quality, perfect video/sound sync.

Hero Video Convert converted it to MPEG1 - which plays but video/sound sync is really rubbish.

I am absolutely over the moon - thank you
